The Chambersburg Fire Department is currently accepting applications to develop a certified list for Entry Level Firefighter/EMT to fill current vacancies. CLEARANCES ARE NOT REQUIRED TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION ALL TIE BREAKERS ARE BASED OFF OF DATE AND TIME APPLICATIONS ARE SUBMITTED ABOUT US: The Chambersburg Fire and EMS Department is a combination department consisting of both full-time, part-time, and volunteer Firefighter/EMTs. We respond to over 4,500 EMS calls and over 1,000 fire/rescue incidents per year. The department’s primary response is in the Borough of Chambersburg, but we do provide mutual aid for both fire and EMS calls. We are an all-hazards department that responds to structure fires, medical calls, HAZMAT incidents, motor vehicle accidents, and a variety of rescue incidents. In addition, the department holds our mission to the highest standards and does a variety of community engagement to include public relations events, fire inspections, and community fire and EMS training. HIGHLIGHTS: · Your workweek will average 42 hours. Overtime will be paid for all hours other than your regularly scheduled shifts in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. · You'll start at $62,415.00 (2025) annually, with raises during and after 1 years’ probation with advancement increases up to a maximum for Firefighter VII of $82,957.20 (2025) annually. You will receive disability insurance, life insurance and retirement benefits. · Training provided · You become eligible for vacation after one year of employment. · Opportunities may be available for a fluent Bilingual English-Spanish Firefighter appointment, should one become available.
