CFD units and mutual aid were sent to the unit block of Garber Street for a report of smoke in an apartment building. Engine 1-1 arrived and met with occupants reporting smoke on the 2nd and 3rd floor. Crews began to investigate those floors finding no source. Squad 41 checked the basement with no condition either. Tower 1 made access to the 1st floor apartment, locating a small fire in a laundry room at the back of the apartment. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and begin checking for any hidden fire. Command 1 (Capt. Pryor) held Company 1 and Squad 41 for a short time to ventilate the building and ensure no extension.
